Coffee is a calorie free beverage that you can consume as much as you want while you are following the ketogenic diet. So it’s really a good base for a keto-friendly shake recipe.

Start by preparing your favorite coffee. For me I like a pure Arabica medium roast brand not too strong, not too light either. I prepare it by just boiling water and then pouring it above a jar containing the coffee powder. I mix gently because the water will be hot. Then I wait 10 to 20 minutes for the beverage to cool down.

When it’s lukewarm I pour the coffee into ice cube molds. Don’t forget there’s the coffee powder at the bottom of the jar. So while pouring into the ice cube molds, just go slow so that you only pour the liquid coffee while the coffee powder stays at the bottom of the jar. Alternatively you could filter out the powder using an additional jar and a strainer if you prefer.

Once the coffee ice cubes are completely frozen, it’s time to finalize our recipe.

  • 1 cup of milk or a lactose-free alternative if you are intolerant to lactose
